CEAUSESCU REPORTED HELD; MORE FIGHTING IN ROMANIA.(Main)

Nicolae Ceausescu, the deposed Communist president of Romania, was reported captured Saturday as the army continued to battle his powerful security police in Bucharest and in at least half a dozen other Romanian cities.

Truckloads of empty coffins were delivered to hospitals, and bodies were reported lying in the streets of various parts of the capital. But much of the fighting was in the center of the city, most notably near the television station, from which the news of the capture of Ceaucescu and his wife was broadcast.

The secret police launched rocket and grenade attacks at the broadcast center in an effort to seize the building and cut off the information that was sustaining the insurgents, who were fighting with forces loyal to Ceausescu.
