Annacone replaces Lundgren as a coach with Britain's Davis Cup team

Paul Annacone will replace Peter Lundgren as a coach with Britain's Davis Cup team.

Annacone, who used to coach Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Marat Safin and Tim Henman, will help prepare Britain's team for the World Group playoffs in September. Britain will find out who it plays on April 16.

"Paul has been working closely with many of our top players in his role as head coach and his knowledge and experience will be vital as we prepare for the World Group playoff," Britain captain John Lloyd said Wednesday.

The 45-year-old Annacone won the 1985 Australian Open doubles title with Christo van Rensburg.

Hirscher wins World Cup giant slalom

Marcel Hirscher of Austria won a men's World Cup giant slalom Saturday for his second win of the season.

Hirscher was 0.47 seconds back in fifth after the opening leg but had a flawless final run on the Podkoren 3 course to finish in a combined time of 2 minutes, 31.30 seconds.

"It's unbelievable, just awesome," said the 20-year-old Hirscher, who won his first career title in a GS in Val d'Isere, France, in December. "I think this was maybe the best giant slalom run I've ever had. The other guys were fast as well, so I didn't believe I could still win it."

US school district bans rosary over gang link

FREMONT, Nebraska (AP) — A U.S. school district in the state of Nebraska has banned a necklace that looks like a rosary after police told officials it's also being worn by gang members.
